North London Lofts: The best of our projects north of the river
From Islington to Barnet, our North London loft conversions are as unique as our clients. We take a look back at the best and most interesting lofts we have created from N1 to N22. So, if you’re looking for inspiration for your own North London loft conversion, keep on reading.
This loft conversion in Highbury was part of a large-scale home renovation, which included a rear dormer loft with en suite shower room and a significant rear extension that made room for a large open-plan kitchen dinner.
This project is a perfect example of how we, at Simply, can combine more than one project at once. We managed both builds to help reduce cost and time. We opened up the loft to include a spacious double bedroom with en suite shower room. The bedroom has been decorated with whimsical wallpaper and the natural nooks and crannies that come with most lofts have been utilised for wardrobes and storage.
The rear extension has been turned into a stylish and contemporary kitchen diner. Light wells and bi-folding doors let in plenty of light. The subtle grey and stark white means that the bright yellow colour of the appliances and chairs really pop out.
The owners of this house love music, so when they envisaged their perfect loft conversion, a space for music was a must. This build included a large side dormer loft conversion, which created a light-filled bedroom with en suite bathroom and a music area.
A number of skylights and windows have been installed to bring in as much natural light as possible and built-in wardrobes provide storage for all those essentials. The white walls and the light, but warm wooden flooring, gives the room a crisp, clean feel.
The long large room has been divided into two distinct areas. The narrowest part is the bedroom; the bed and sofa under the eaves creates a cosy den-like feel. The second part of the room is the music area. Set in the widest part of the room is the music area, this space features a small desk under a window and built in cupboards in the eaves. The minimalistic design gives the owners space to be creative without being distracted.
The en suite bathroom features a walk-in shower with a large heated towel rail. Again, the light colours create a calming space in which to de-stress.
This typical 20th-century house in Barnet has undergone a transformation with a side dormer loft and a double glazed Juliet balcony. The project created a new bedroom space, study and bathroom.
The bedroom is spacious and the distinct architectural features create a unique space, which makes you want to spend time in the bedroom. The Juliet balcony floods the room with natural light and offers a beautiful view over the garden. When we create a loft conversion at Simply Loft, we never like to waste space. This is why we have built-in cupboards where we can, so the owners have plenty of storage space. For this build, we came up with the innovative idea of putting drawers into the wall. You can never have too much storage.
The en suite shower comprises of a large walk in shower with bright blue tiles which helps create a bright and sunny room – perfect for those mornings when you need a little more motivation.
