Simply Loft were delighted to work on this rear mansard loft conversion on Cicada Road in Wandsworth, with this full design and build utilising every skillset at Simply Construction Group. This particular rear mansard required planning permission from the local council of Wandsworth, due to the roof terrace. This loft conversion was kept simple but bold in its design, matching the re-fitted first floor bathroom which had a black and white theme contrasted with a patterned tile flooring. The loft bathroom continued this monochrome theme, with marbled tiles on the walls and a dark grey tiled floor. The sparkling silver of the tap fittings makes the room look polished and clean, ideal for family guests spending the night. In a small space such as lofts, it really is the small details that can make the biggest difference!
The simplistic décor was carried through to the main bedroom, with pale colours accentuating the light from the pitched roof skylights. The dark blue of the corner sofa pops out of its surroundings and makes it a prominent feature of this guest bedroom. A rear mansard conversion adds a large amount of space and height to the property, which can be utilised in many different ways. This room has been designed with multi-functionality in mind. There is desk-space for any home working, or the sofa for a quite spot to read in a busy family house. The understated colours allow the room to be easily spruced up and changed to meet its current purpose.
Of course, the signature section of this design and build project is absolutely the roof terrace. You can imagine sipping an ice-cold drink in the summer months whilst overlooking the stunning London city skyline after a busy week.
