Hip to Gable Rear Dormer Loft Conversion Twickenham, Crown Road

Our client decided to choose Simply Loft for our design and build services on their proposed loft conversion and roof terrace.  Top floor flats or maisonettes are extremely popular in London due to crowded living areas, so to be able to expand a two bedroom flat with a valuable extra bedroom with a loft conversion is extremely worthwhile.  With a loft conversion on a flat, homeowners need to go through planning permission, so in this case our architectural team worked with our client to agree on a set of plans to submit to Richmond borough council.  As a roof terrace was also in the plan it was essential the permission was in place before any work could begin.

Once planning permission was achieved our design team could hand over to the construction team and set the build phase in motion.  As with all loft conversions, scaffolding is required to work on the roof so our roofing team set about removing the existing roof and replacing it with a brand new loft conversion roof including removing the hipped end of the roof and straightening this out with a rear dormer to the back of the property.

Once the interiors were complete, a door was added from the first floor to access the brand new roof terrace which was glazed with obscured glass for extra privacy.  The inside was beautifully finished, with a black painted hand rail and balustrade on the new staircase leading up to the loft conversion.  The new shower room was stunning with large marbled-effect tiles and a black shower framed screen.
