L-Shaped Dormer Loft Conversion, Weardale Road, Lewisham, South East London

Brief: Our team at Simply Loft was asked to design and build an L-shaped rear dormer loft conversion to create space for two new bedrooms and a bathroom for our clients in Weardale Road, Lewisham.

Our clients in Lewisham got in touch with us with a desire to increase the space in their home for their growing family. They wanted to add two bedrooms as well as a bathroom to their loft conversion. Our site surveyors were delighted to come and conduct a complimentary site survey and discuss their requirements in more detail.  After careful consideration, our team deduced that an L-shaped rear dormer loft conversion would offer them ample additional space to create the bedrooms and bathroom that they required. 

Similar to our other loft conversions, we took care of every aspect of this project, starting with the initial planning and design stage by our architects, and ending with the full build that was expertly executed by our skilled builders, all while being closely supervised by our committed site manager. This considerable loft conversion was an absolute joy to work on, and our clients were extremely satisfied with the exceptional outcome.

This remarkable space boasts two spacious bedrooms. Our clients have thoughtfully transformed one of the bedrooms into a beautiful nursery, while the other serves as a master bedroom with an ensuite. These two rooms are conveniently connected by a landing that can be accessed through the newly designed staircase, flawlessly matching the existing staircase in style and design and perfect for new parents that wish to be close to their little one. 

The nursery exudes a cosy and serene ambience, skillfully achieved through our client’s choice of a neutral colour palette, enhanced by a captivating wall mural. This vibrant and cheerful piece of artwork brings a playful touch to the room, ensuring years of enjoyment. The traditional cot fits flawlessly with the overall neutral tones of the space. With ample room available, this nursery can easily accommodate a first single bed when the time is right.

Our clients have chosen a Scandinavian-inspired design for the master bedroom, creating a delightful sense of airiness with smart wooden floors and a stylish wooden bed frame. The addition of bold contrasting green skirting and cupboard doors adds a unique touch to the room’s decor. Ample natural light fills the space through the large Velux skylights, while the Juliet balcony with glass balustrade on the opposite side offers lovely views of the garden and beyond, allowing for a truly serene and picturesque experience from the comfort of the master bed. 

The ensuite bathroom is accessible from the master bedroom and seamlessly flows with the light and inviting ambience of the entire loft conversion. The wooden floor of the bedroom extends into the bathroom, creating a sense of continuity. The spacious walk-in shower boasts an inset shelf, ideal for storing toiletries, while the minimalistic white fixtures and fittings perfectly complement the room. Our client opted for white subway tiles with black grouting, which adds a charming touch to the space.
