London Loft Conversion Project Case Study
Brief: Rear and l-shaped dormer loft conversion, to a terrace house, creating one bedroom, one dressing room and one bathroom.
This rear dormer loft conversion was completed for our clients living in a middle terrace house in Charlton, Southeast London, who wanted to add extra space to their property. After meeting with one of our Simply Loft surveyors, our client decided that a rear and l-shaped dormer loft conversion would fit best with what they were looking for and their budget.
Once the plans were drawn up by our team of architects, this wonderful loft conversion was handed over to one of our experienced Simply Loft construction teams. Bringing plans to life is one of the most exciting aspects of any loft conversion project and the part where clients really get to see major changes and progress. The end result of this loft conversion project was fantastic.
Walking through to the bedroom, the area is so spacious, that the architect was able to add in a desired seating area into the master bedroom, the clients have chosen a stunning Juliet balcony in the corner of the space which creates a great opportunity for relaxing with the additional benefit of opening it up during the summer months, or just if ventilation is needed. The balcony door, in addition to the three Velux windows has ultimately created a beautifully bright space which opens the rest of the loft conversion bedroom. This space could have otherwise been lost within the bedroom, because it’s such a large area, but by segmenting the space, the design has enabled our clients to enjoy a multifunctional space. Our client’s loft conversion will be perfect all year round, with a spacious seating area to enjoy the outdoors. In the summer, the doors leading to the balcony can be opened up to let in that much needed ventilation and fresh air.
Walking through to the shower room, you are met with a bright and airy space with dual basins, perfect for couples and ideal for keeping organised! A double sink space is great for extra room to move around and display those bathroom essentials! The clients have opted for a beautiful dark green tile for the shower space, this popular style and colour of tile brings depth into the room, whilst also bringing colour to contrast with the rest of the white space.
When our clients spoke with the architects from the Simply Architects team, they wanted to ensure there would be space to create an area which would allow them to have storage without encroaching on their bedroom area. Walking down a couple of steps next to the Juliet balcony, you are met with a dressing room space. This additional space was something our clients were keen to include in their loft conversion. By having this extra space segmented from the master bedroom, it enables our clients to have storage for their clothes, shoes and items that could otherwise take up valuable space in the bedroom. From this decision, the bedroom has become an open space with no crowding or clutter and ensures that there is enough space for luxuries like the seating areas.
This stunning loft conversion was designed and built by the Simply Loft team! With over 13 years of experience, you can rest assured you are in safe hands when it comes to your loft conversion project.
