Brief: Loft Conversion Tooting. To construct a rear dormer and l-section loft conversion to their rental property in Tooting, generating three bedrooms and two bathrooms as well as a complete refurbishment of the flat.
Stefania and Paul, local estate agents in the Tooting area came to Simply Loft with a vision of transforming their rental property with a complete refurbishment and loft conversion over the upper part of their home. This extensive project was a brilliant loft conversion to work on as all aspects of the roof were utilised to generate as much extra space for them as possible.
The type of loft conversion chosen was a rear dormer loft conversion coupled with an l-section (or l-shaped) conversion over the double storey extension at the back of the house. These types of floor plans are most commonly found on period homes and so this type of loft conversion was perfect for Stefania and Paul’s home.
Extra bedrooms were key on the list for Stefania and Paul due to the property being letted out. The end result was fabulous; each room being light and spacious double bedrooms as well as beautifully finished bathrooms. A lovely feature was made out of the staircase by using walk on glazing in order to make the stairwell feel brighter and spacious. The staircase was also seamlessly joined to the old one so the continuity flowed between both floors.
Whilst the inside interiors were finished beautifully, the exterior of the loft conversion was clad with slate and stunning charcoal glazing was chosen for a modern, contemporary feel.
