This project on Buxton Crescent in Cheam, Surrey, was a full design and build project, with our clients coming to us with their ideas for their perfect loft conversion. Our clients opted for a hip to gable rear dormer loft conversion, which entails the hipped end of their roof being extended to a gable wall – making the slanted ends straight. By having a rear dormer added too, this home is able to fully utilise every metre of their property, with added head room and usable space.
Juliet’s Balcony
The bedroom we have created is bright and spacious, with a stunning Juliet balcony to the rear of the property. If you have ever wanted to feel like Shakespeare’s Juliet, then this is definitely an option to consider! If you are an early bird, you can wake up and see the sunrise, or the night owls amongst us can see the sunset, but either way – you are guaranteed beautiful views. Our clients have been using the space as a home office, and the natural lighting which comes in through the balcony doors and the skylights enable their workspace to be well-lit.
Stylish Storage
Many clients wonder what storage options are available to them when they have a loft conversion. In this build, our clients have used an in-built wardrobe with shelving to house their clothes and belongings. This makes the room multi-functional, as you can work away at the desk without being surrounded by clothing or distracting furnishings. There are also cleverly hidden in-built cupboards behind the door, which can be great to store anything you have in your loft prior to having a conversion. Simply and Leigh’s team were excellent during the months of construction. Overall this has been a very positive and successful loft conversion project and my family and I are very happy about our new living space, which added a master bedroom and a large ensuite bathroom to our semi-detached house.
The communication was great throughout the whole duration of the project. The structural construction works were carried out very smoothly, with only little issues (promptly addressed) and to a very high standard. Leigh also took on some of the work, particularly when building the roof structure and the beautiful staircase.
