Hip to Gable Rear Dormer Loft Conversion Whitton, Evelyn Close

Our client in Whitton, South West London approached us to convert their semi-detached home with a loft conversion that would add an all important extra bedroom and bathroom to the top floor.  Having already carried out a ground floor extension to their home, going up and expanding the loft area seemed like a logical next step.

During the course of their initial survey, it was decided that a hip to gable loft conversion combined with a rear dormer would be the most appropriate type of attic conversion for their home.  By extending out the gable end of their roof, maximum head height and extra usable space is created.  Plans were drawn up and submitted to Richmond borough council and once all the approvals were met, the Simply Loft Construction team were able to set about bringing the project to life.

The first step in the process of construction on this loft conversion on Evelyn Close was to build the roof structure including the gable end and the dormer to the back of the property.  It was clad in clay tiles with a colour to match the rest of the roof and their ground floor extension cladding.  Casement windows were chosen for the dormer section of the loft and velux windows for the sloping part of the roof at the front of our clients home.

Inside, a beautiful ensuite shower room was created and finished off with neutral coloured tiling.  In the master bedroom a large space was created, big enough to fit large double bed and extra furniture.  Once our construction team had completed and moved out, our clients were able to put lovely new carpets into the room and landing area.
