South East London Loft Conversion Project Case Study
Brief: A hip to gable loft conversion combined with a rear dormer added by Simply Loft to a semi detached home on Montcalm Road, Charlton, South East London. Adding one extra bedroom and adjoining ensuite shower room.
Simply Loft were absolutely delighted to have been appointed to carry out this design and build loft conversion project to our client’s home on Montcalm Road in Charlton. Simply Loft have previously worked on many other loft conversion projects in the Charlton area so were thrilled to be able to add this to our portfolio.
As a design and build project, once our client had had their initial site survey with our surveyor and contracts were signed, our client was then handed over to our architectural team. It was their job to liaise with our client and come up with their desired floor plan and scheme for their loft conversion. This particular project fell under permitted development loft conversion rights, so our client did not have to go through a lengthy planning process. Our architectural design team then worked with our structural engineer to produce accurate calculations for constructing the loft conversion.
Once our client was happy, it was then time to decide on a start date with our construction team. His project manager was on hand to manage all the various trades and ensure everything was delivered accurately, on time and to a good quality finish. A standard loft conversion project takes around 6-8 weeks to get to a plaster finish. Our client decided to then decorate and add all the finishing touches such as flooring and furniture.
The end result was fabulous! With a beautiful terracotta colour added to the walls of the new bedroom and stunning feature tiles added to the bathroom, this loft conversion project has added a valuable space to our client’s home.
