Brief: Rear and l-shaped dormer loft conversion, to a middle terrace house, creating two bedrooms and one bathroom.
This rear dormer loft conversion was completed for our clients living in a middle terrace house in South Tottenham, North London, who wanted to add extra space to their property. After meeting with one of our Simply Loft surveyors, our client decided that a rear and l-shaped dormer loft conversion would fit best with what they were looking for and their budget.
Walking into the master bedroom, the lighting engulfs you in the best way possible. With the stunning placement of three consecutive Velux windows, the lighting is ideal for a loft bedroom. Loft conversion bedrooms are usually misunderstood as dark spaces, so this stunning example banishes those myths! Our client has opted for subtle tones throughout this bedroom, with grey wooden flooring complimenting the refreshing white bed and walls. This space is modern and fresh, yet it still portrays that cosy bedroom feeling. The light colours used in the bedroom reflect from the natural lighting from the windows above – ultimately making the space brighter.
Multiple built in storage spaces have been implemented into this bedroom by the Simply Loft construction team. The built in storage space has truly allowed for this bedroom to have lots of free floor space, ultimately making the whole room appear larger, and making extra space for our client’s bedroom essentials!
Walking through to the seating area of the master bedroom, the clients have chosen a stunning Juliet balcony in the corner of the space. The balcony door, in addition to the three Velux windows has ultimately created a beautifully bright space. Our client’s loft conversion will be perfect all year round, with a spacious seating area to enjoy the outdoors. In the Summer the doors leading to the balcony can be opened up to let that much needed fresh air into the bedroom.
Leaving the master bedroom, you are met with a small hallway which leads out to the stairs, beautifully carpeted with a dark, deep pile carpet – softening the hallway space. The hallway has been lit by a small, square glazed roof – this simple, yet effective addition to this loft conversion build has created a stylish and modern feature in what would have been lost space. Little additions like this can make a huge difference to a loft conversion, and in this case the light levels have been beautifully added into a space where it’s needed!
The simple and fresh décor theme was followed through from the bedroom and into the shower room, with a refreshing white colour on the walls and silver details such as the heated towel rail and tap. Our client has chosen a simply, yet stylish shower room, which is relaxing to spend time in.
Our clients decided the second bedroom in their loft conversion would be best suited as an office, to fit their lifestyle more effectively. The second loft conversion bedroom has made use of the l-shaped floor (outrigger) underneath. The desk has been placed underneath the casement window, which is ideal for achieving maximum light levels whilst working from home – which is important when being on a computer for long periods of time! The cosy office corner has a refreshing feel with white walls and light toned furniture and desk chair. From choosing light coloured furniture, as well as the style of window, this loft conversion room feels lighter and a more desirable place to spend long period of time.
