Loft Conversion Study North London
Brief: Rear dormer loft conversion, to a mid-terrace property in East Finchley, North London, not in a conservation area, creating a bedroom and ensuite bathroom.
We worked with the homeowners of this East Finchley property to convert their unused loft into a bright and functional bedroom with an ensuite bathroom. The goal was to maximise space and natural light while creating a comfortable retreat that blends modern design with classic touches. Through careful planning and expert craftsmanship, we transformed the loft into a stylish and practical living area that complements the character of the home.
Natural light was a driving factor in the design. The bedroom features two Velux windows on one side and a large double window on the other, bathing the space in daylight and creating a light, airy feel. The room’s interior carries a soothing blue theme, enriched by natural wooden furnishings. Additionally, a dedicated exercise bike area was thoughtfully incorporated, blending wellness with comfort within the new living space.
The ensuite bathroom offers a classic and elegant design. White tiles cover the walls, creating a fresh and timeless look, while grey tiled flooring adds contrast and depth. Silver fixtures bring a touch of sophistication to the space. A large Velux window above the bathroom fills the room with daylight, maintaining a bright and airy atmosphere while preserving privacy.
Natural light was a key priority throughout the design. The strategically positioned Velux windows in both the bedroom and bathroom ensure the spaces feel open and welcoming, reducing the need for artificial lighting during the day. This use of daylight enhances the overall ambience and brings a connection to the outdoors.
