Brief: Rear Dormer & L-Shape loft conversion to a terraced house, not a conservation area, creating one large bedroom and a bathroom.

Simply Loft completed this outstanding rear dormer and l-shaped loft conversion in Hackney, East London. Our clients wanted to create the perfect bedroom for their young children, giving them a whole new space to explore and enjoy together. Having a new space of this size is invaluable for a London family looking to raise two young boys, and Simply Loft were more than happy to make this space a reality for them.

Our clients wanted to fully maximise the space they could get from a loft conversion and opted to have a loft conversion which spans over the main body of the house and the L-section. This meant that our clients could have a larger bedroom and space for a bathroom on this new level of their home. Our clients could have chosen to have two bedrooms in this space, but we love the joint the bedroom they decided on instead.

This room is perfectly designed for young children, with high windows that allow in plenty of natural light but are out of reach of little hands. Natural light is an important aspect in a child’s bedroom – that is if you want them to get into a good sleep schedule! The VELUX skylights bring in the sunlight, but also provide these young boys a view of the starry night sky too, perfect for letting their imagination wander as they settle into bed.

No bedroom is complete without some form of storage, and this L-shape loft conversion is perfectly designed to have storage built into the walls. There are several cupboards and storage areas underneath the eaves of the loft conversion, which are great for storing toys or festive decorations in if you want to store bulky items. The cupboard doors are nondescript too, with no clear handles which their children can accidentally tug on or fall into.

The bedroom has been styled for the young boys and the finished room is a child’s dream! The starry feature wall is a dream for budding young astronauts, and the circus tent style lamp shades make for a circus in the stars! These boys will fall asleep with their imagination running wild in their incredible new bedroom.

The second room of this London loft conversion is a bathroom which has been beautifully decorated. The skylight above the deep ceramic bath brings in natural light that accentuates the gold metal dotted around the room. The mirror frame, towel rail, taps and pipes are golden, giving this room an air of luxury! Whilst it may not be a boy’s bathroom, our clients have a beautiful bathroom for their guests to use, and the main bedroom can easily be turned into a guest bedroom in the future.
