Hip to Gable Rear Dormer Loft Conversion Twickenham, Runnymede Road

Our client on Runnymede Road in the beautiful suburb of Twickenham, South West London approached Simply Loft in 2016 to start the ball rolling on a quotation for their proposed loft conversion.  Having plans and structural calculations already drawn up, Simply Loft only had to quote for the actual construction part of this project.  Our client had designed together with their architect a large hip to gable loft conversion combined with a rear dormer loft conversion to fully maximise the space added to their home.

These types of loft conversions are perfect for 1930’s semi detached homes as the hip to gable conversion straightens out the side of the gabled roof.  This means a full head height is achieved across the entire loft conversion.  Combining this with a dormer at the back of the property’s roof means that a large space is created.  Our client decided to then use the space created to house a stunning master bedroom and ensuite shower room.

The Simply Loft construction team were great at turning this project around in a good and timely manner, firstly creating the new roof structure, making it watertight and then breaking through the floor underneath to get the new stair case in.  Loft conversions are considered one of the least invasive forms of adding extra space to a home as all work at the start is carried out from the outside of the property.

Once the construction team moved off site, our client did a wonderful job of having the space decorated with a retro-styled wallpaper for a great feature in the main bedroom as well as carpeting the space with a thick and luxurious carpet.  The fixtures and fittings and sanitary ware chosen for the ensuite shower room were chosen to fit the them of the main bedroom.  A gorgeous blue paint was chosen for the main wall in the bathroom.
